Music and Mind, a unique and innovative initiative probably the first in the country, where mental health issues are discussed in the background of soulful music composed by most talented artist and award-winning composer Mr. Hemanth Jois. This combo of psychiatrist and artist series aimed at creating mental health awareness in the general public.
Areas of Interest
- Global mental health, women and transgender mental health
- Schizophrenia and psychopharmacological aspects in treatment resistance
- Cognitive-behavioral therapies for OCD, depression, panic attacks, and other anxiety disorders
- Community education about mental illnesses through mass media about the mainly related to the stigma associated with mental illnesses and the need for early interventions
- Addressing school children management of stress-related to studies and exam, identifying childhood illnesses
Clinical, Academic, & Research
- Clinical work involves patient care in outpatient and inpatient department, psychotherapy
- Mentoring, and leadership works
- Working with a multi-disciplinary team with cordial & professional relationships with peers, students, and consultants towards better patient care.
- Academic coordinator of Training initiative for the psychiatry postgraduates(TIPPS)
- Several international and national presentations, symposiums
- Currently involved in multiple national and international research collaborations with early career psychiatrists across the world.
- Listed as a psychiatrist in Pink List India, a list prepared by NGO for transgender support
- Participating, conducting, initiating research (diagnostic and therapeutic) to gain further insight about various diseases, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and then to publish or present the research work in various journals, and national and international conferences
